Samhradh (Sour-a) is the Gaelic for summer. This name was chosen as it reminds me of the feeling of sunshine and the warmth and comfort it brings. We want to create a year round summer space where even on the wet drizzly days you will feel the heat of the summer sun within our sauna.
Samhradh was also my dog and my best friends name, her passing taught me to be brave, seize the day and to try to live life with kindness and peace.

As a qualified national tour guide I have completed studies in culture and heritage and I am hugely passionate about our language, our heritage and culture. Understanding our native language gives us a different perspective, an súil éile.

Hi, my name is Bébhinn and I am the proud owner of Samhradh’s sauna. I originate from one of Mayo’s offshore islands, Clare Island. The experience of growing up on the island has given me a great appreciation for the sea, nature and community. This is what has driven me to create Samhradh’s sauna. Having trained as an outdoor instructor and worked as national adventure tour guide, I spent many years sharing and enjoying the benefits of Irelands natural landscape. I wish to share this experience with you, I hope that you will enjoy a unique and soulful sauna experience ~Sláinte
